Zeroseven attends Something Digital 2024
We had the opportunity to represent Zeroseven at the annual Something Digital™ event this week and were both rewarded with an inspiring and thought-provoking experience. We spent two days immersed in discussions around digital innovation, AI, inclusivity, and how technology can—and must—empower every human. This idea was the central theme of the event and underscored the importance of human-centered technology in today’s digital landscape.
Here are some of our speaker highlights and takeaways from the event:
- Alondra Nelson, the Harold F. Linder Professor of the Institute for Advanced Study made the case for policy innovation and government approaches to AI.
- Yao Ding, the Accessibility Research Lead at Meta, delivered a powerful session on the business case for accessibility. With 1 in 6 Australians living with a disability, the potential of inclusive design is incredible.
- Brittany Brown of NASA, who shared the approach that NASA takes to digital storytelling; delivering the right content, on the right channel, distributed at the right time, to the right audience, with the right visual.
- Troy Casey of Blaklash, with Danielle Ah Boo of Screen Queensland, Rose Barrowcliffe of Macquarie University, and Michael Dickerson of Gambarra Kaha ANZ DC, discussed the key considerations of intellectual property rights and data sovereignty for First Nations People.
In addition to the guest speakers and expert panels, the chance to connect with others in the Brisbane community and hear some of the amazing work being done in digital innovation was truly inspiring, sparking meaningful conversations and providing quality networking opportunities and insights.
A big thank you and congratulations to the organisers for pulling together a fantastic event. See you next year!
